Class Description

Mekkos "Memphis" Beech is a nationally recognized instructor, an IDPA Master, Chief Safety Officer (CSO), and former match director of several clubs. He is one of only eight IDPA Master-class shooters that teach CCW classes. This class will cover skills needed to advance up the IDPA ranks and to win matches, including... • Safety Items (including Avoiding DQs) • Mental Management • Shooting Fundamentals (Grip/Stance Platform, Sights & Trigger) • Stage Planning • Movement Mechanics • Sample stages will be used for practice & assessment. • An IDPA equipment box and scale will be present to test your equipment if necessary. Friday May 3, 2024 will be the IDPA Pistol Skills Class itself. As a courtesy, Mekkos will also be present at the local IDPA Match on Saturday May 4, 2024. The class members will make up its own squad and Mekkos will coach the shooters throughout the match. Gear List: • Eye and ear protection • A safe & reliable handgun * • A holster for your handgun * • Three magazines minimum * • Two magazine pouches minimum * • Concealment garment • Note taking materials • 200 rounds of ammunition for the class • 150 rounds of ammunition for the match * It is helpful that all gear be IDPA-legal. If you are unsure or do not have any IDPA-specific gear, you may still join and participate in the class. Your participation in the match will be at the discretion of the Match Director.
